Sunday MORNINGS

Sunday School

During the Sunday School Hour, there is nursery care for infants and toddlers. Structured Sunday School classes are available for children from age 2 through Grade 5.  The classes are organized by age or grade. The kids will learn in a small group setting with teachers who love the Lord and His Word. Using "Answers in Genesis ABC" curriculum, adults will guide the kids to dig into God's word and apply the principles learned.

Kindergarten-5th Grade

For older children (kindergarten through 5th grade) we offer Children's Church on Sunday mornings during the worship service. Children typically attend the first 30 minutes of the first adult worship service and then are dismissed to Children's Church prior to the sermon. All children will be escorted to the 2nd floor educational wing where they divide into older children (Grades 3-5) and younger children (Grades K-2). Currently, the children are using the "High Voltage" curriculum to guide their exploration of the Bible.

Nursery/Pre-K

During the Worship Service, nursery care is provided for infants and toddlers. A pager system is used to make sure that parents can be reached in the event of any problems. Pre-K children (ages 3-4), like the grade school children, also attend the first 30 minutes adult worship service with their families. They are then dismissed and escorted to Pre-K Children’s Church which is held in the Pre-K room of the nursery wing. At Pre-K Church, children will listen to an age-appropriate Bible story, enjoy a snack, perhaps complete a craft and have plenty of time to play!

Wednesday Night FAMILY PROGRAM

We offer a Family Night Program each Wednesday from 7pm-8pm in the church basement.

While the teens are at Youth Group, the younger kids can enjoy a fun night with their parents. Families stay together and rotate through 3 stations-- Bible lesson & snack, a science activity, and games! Since you are with your family, there are no age requirements other than 5th grade and under. Families should enter using the lower canopy entrance where they will be assigned to a group for the night, moving through rotations together.

Special Events

At MGBC we love families and we strive to provide special events to create memories and experiences for your family. Some of the events held throughout the year include:

Pinewood Derby

Kids have an opportunity to make a wooden car using a kit and race in a traditional Pinewood Derby race. Teens and Adults can compete in the "open" race with lots of freedom to build and design your own car.

FX Nights

FX or Family Experiences are held twice per year on Wednesday evenings. A light meal is served at 6pm followed by a family activity. Some past activities included a scavenger hunt through the church, Christmas, movie night, and a progressive meal. On FX nights, regular Wednesday night programming is suspended and all age groups participate as a family.

Light Up The Night

This outreach event is held on the Martinsburg Trick-or-Treat night. Families or small group set up at local homes and distribute food, candy, and play games with neighborhood folks as they are out trick-or-treating.

Father/Daughter and Mother/Son Date Nights

Rotating years, these events are special nights for parents to "date" their child of the opposite gender. Father/Daughter night is a dress up semi-formal dinner and program. Mother/Son night is an outdoor picnic with games.

VBS/VBX

Each summer, typically the last week of July, our church hosts Vacation Bible School in the evenings on Monday-Friday. We have a different theme each year and invite kids age 4 - 5th grade to participate in Bible lessons, crafts, games, snacks, and missions time. Middle school students participate in Extreme VBS (VBX) and play group games, have Bible time, and enjoy hanging out together.

Kids Korale

Kids age 4 through 5th grade are invited to participate in a musical production twice a year (Dec and April). Practices are held from 6-7pm on Wednesday nights. This program is currently suspended.
