What is WIC?
One of the services of the Home Nursing Agency* is the Women, Infants & Children
(WIC)
Supplemental Nutrition Program for pregnant, breastfeeding and post-partum
women and children under age 5.  WIC, a health and nutrition program, is federally-funded
and administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.  Currently, Home Nursing
Agency WIC Program is serving 3,900 women, infants and children each month in Blair County.

WIC Provides:
Nutritious foods at no cost
Health & nutrition information
Health & immunization screenings
Breastfeeding information and support
Recipes, newsletters, educational materials
One-on-one nutrition counseling is available
Referrals to community services

WIC eligibility is based on income for those family members who have a
nutritional risk.  A family of four may earn up to $38,203 (annual gross income) and
still meet program eligibility guidelines.
