Women of Grace | WIC Outreach
 
The Women of Grace leadership team has seen a need to give a "loving touch" to the women and children who are serviced by the WIC program (2nd Tuesday of every month @ MGBC).  We provide snacks and coloring sheets for the preschool children, a "homey" atmosphere for the waiting area, a resource table for the mothers with Focus on the Family magazines, parenting brochures and a lending library of parenting/marriage books. Slightly used clothes, unopened formula and toys that have been donated are displayed for those who might need them. We have also been giving the families children's Christian CD's and books for the past several months to take home with them. Invitations to any current women's or children's program in our church are given out as the families leave. It is a special time of interaction and building relationships with the mothers and children that enter our doors once a month!
 
   Currently, there are several areas that women volunteer to help with this outreach:
 
s provide snacks and individually package them for the children
s be a greeter for an hour segment during the WIC distribution
smaking monthly display boards/handouts
sset up and tear down the waiting area
sclean toys
